Chronic pain affects nearly one in five adults — but more patients (and their doctors) are finally seeing acupuncture as part of the solution.
Vermont acupuncturist Dr. Kerry Boyle was recently featured on WCAX News for her work helping seniors find relief from chronic pain. The story also shed light on a persistent Medicare coverage gap — acupuncture for chronic low back pain is covered, but many patients still can’t access care for other conditions or from all qualified providers.
Despite the coverage gaps, stories like this — along with the studies below — show real progress in how acupuncture is being used to manage chronic pain, restore movement, and reduce reliance on medication.
