World Menopause Day was Oct. 18 — but we’re not done talking about it.

Especially when it comes to the work of Dr. Felice Indindoli, an acupuncturist who has pioneered an integrative menopause-care model for women Veterans. Her program blends acupuncture, education, and smart referrals (OBGYN, nutrition, mental health) — crucial in a population where symptoms can be intensified by PTSD and anxiety. Backed by a Pain/Opioid CORE grant, her goal is to build a replicable framework VA hospitals can use nationwide.

We love seeing this kind of progress in VA settings, where acupuncture is being recognized not just for pain and PTSD, but for the complex transitions that define women’s health.

Alongside Dr. Indindoli’s work, new studies are helping communicate to patients and the broader medical community how acupuncture supports women’s health through menopause — from mood and sleep to intimacy and overall wellbeing.
