PRESS
The tennis pro shared, ‘At the start of the year I was so scared of needles. It was my biggest phobia. But that was the only way I was going to be able to play the Australian Open so I've been kind of dipping my toes into it because I know it helps even though I'm really scared of them. That's how I've been trying to manage it.’
RESEARCH
Researchers used brain imaging to examine how acupuncture combined with standard sleep medication affects people with insomnia. After four weeks, patients receiving acupuncture showed improved sleep quality, reduced anxiety, and measurable changes in blood flow across key brain regions involved in sleep and emotional regulation. The study did not include sham acupuncture, meaning results reflect real world clinical acupuncture rather than placebo controlled effects. The findings help visualize how acupuncture may support brain function in insomnia care.
